COVID19 Impacts to San Diego Real Estate Market

COVID19 Impacts to San Diego Real Estate Market

I hope this finds you and yours well and healthy.

COVID19 has turned most of our worlds upside down. We have questions and concerns about how to proceed through the coming weeks and months as our personal connections, our work and our financial situations are upset.

Just a few short weeks ago I was concerned with being physically able following knee surgery to take on what looked to be an early start to a very busy Spring real estate sales season. That concern became irrelevant over the course of last week. Buyers and sellers such as yourself are in the position of having to review your goals and assess this new, evolving COVID19 environment.

In addition, significant changes are being implemented for how typical real estate related activities are conducted. Federal, state and local government mandates will continue to influence business practices. Individual brokerage policies are also being implemented in an effort to protect the health and safety of our clients, ourselves and our communities.

In an effort to keep you up-to-date on the San Diego real estate market and how business practices are changing/responding to the pandemic, I’ll provide regular Blog posts with an “in-the-trenches” perspective of what’s happening on the front lines of San Diego real estate and real estate related services such as financing, marketing and showing practices, inspections, appraisals, escrow, etc.

While there is no question that the pandemic will impact our economy in the coming months, it is still unknown as to how deeply we will be affected individually, and how various markets will respond, including the real estate market.

For those of you who had intended to either list or purchase residential property in the next 30-90 days, I’d like to invite you to reach out to me to discuss your particular situation. The more information you have, the better able you will be to make informed decisions going forward.

Stay healthy and safe, and as always, please know your best interest is my top priority.
